\n<\/a>Landmark Game<\/a> <\/span><\/strong>– \u00a0 Next session signup: January, 2026<\/span>
\nCoordinator: Terry Smith (USA) <\/em>
\n<\/span>As a whole class or in small teams, students choose a culturally, historically, or geographically significant Landmark anywhere in the world, and research facts about its location. Next, they write\u00a0nine challenging clues about the landmark. Over a 3-week period using email, teams try to decipher\u00a0the clues, interact by questioning the other teams, and submit their final researched answers at the end of the project.\u00a0 Topics that are involved: geography\/geospatial, history, literacy, math, science, art, and music. Student<\/strong>\u00a0Competencies<\/strong>: Collaboration, Organization, Critical Thinking, Problem Solving, Technology Skills, and Global Awareness.

\nAcross the Sky

\n<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\nAcross the Sky<\/strong>\u00a0is a project that aims to extend the walls of the classroom by connecting students in different parts of the world to each other.\u00a0Music<\/strong>,\u00a0Art,<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Storytelling<\/strong>\u00a0are seamlessly connected to create a sense of community and shared goals. For now, the project is conducted exclusively in\u00a0English<\/strong>. Each meeting ends with a story and encourages students to ask that most magical of questions,\u00a0\u2018What happens next?\u2019<\/em>
\nThe aims of the Across the Sky group are twofold. Firstly, we strive to extend the walls of the classroom and in the process help our students to realize that English is a global language that is accessible to all. Students will be able to see their peers from other parts of the world learning and using English in real-time just like them and this will serve to create a global community of learners. At the same time, the group seeks to create a community of like-minded teachers who want to share ideas and learn new things together.\u00a0 The group seeks to be truly inclusive and is happy to embrace students, teachers, and indeed parents from every part of the world to create a global classroom, Across the Sky. \n<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\nThe “F A S T\u00a0 \u00a0P L A N T S<\/strong>” project is always developed with fast-growing vegetables that allow experiments to study biology in parallel with scientific methodology and research: planning of experiments and development of scientific attitudes: observation, collection, analysis and interpretation of data and writing of reports with the conclusions.
\nObserve the development of vegetables that will be planted the same day, in different locations, and promote the exchange of information resulting from these experiments. The students participate intensively in the project, from the planting of the vegetable, and with this, are stimulated to the careful observation of the development of all phases of these plants. This experiment leads students to understand aspects of plant physiology and genetics.

It aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals and enables school children to research the topic, better understand it, and take a meaningful action. It provides a wonderful opportunity to connect with peers around the world<\/a> to get acquainted with school traditions, their students\u2019 interests, hobbies, and preferences, and ask questions directly to gain knowledge about towns, cities, and countries they live in, as well as questions on relevant topics and global issues. \n The idea of the project is making friends with students all around the world by exchanging Peace messages. Students collaborate to compose their own peace messages on the dove-shaped sheets of paper. The letters usually contain information about the places where students\u00a0live, symbols of the country, traditions, school, and their own interests and hobbies.

\n<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\nAsk your\u00a0students to imagine what their partners around the world \u2013 looking out of their bedroom window \u2013 might they see. Help the students to\u00a0think beyond what they think, when they get an opportunity to see what their partners see.\u00a0The project improves the students\u2019ability and creativity to imagine and to draw pictures according to their perceptions about their partners. \nHarvest Moon Over Us

\n<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\nThis project promotes observations of the Moon by students on different continents. Students learn about the full Moon, its distance from Earth, and how it changes its shape.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
In Harvest\u00a0 Moon Over Us:\u00a0 students become cultural astronomers. They take a survey about the moon; draw images or take digital pictures of the moon once a week from September 1 to October 1 most of the cycle. They research and compare each other’s images of the moon; create Padlet images with comments that include poetry, history, beliefs, stories, and research. and link them to the Project Padlet.\u00a0 Students use dialogue, comments, and discussion to share their valuable insights. The project ends with a final survey and sharing reflections.\u00a0Students receive Kidlink Web Badges or a certificate for completing the project.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n<\/strong>Coordinator: <\/em>previously Stellan Kinberg<\/span><\/span><\/p>\nIn this project the students think about their identity, skills (empathetic\/interpersonal among others), background (family roots), future and how to realize their dream as an adult.
