In this project, students become cultural astronomers. They take a survey about the Moon the week of January 7. They draw pictures or take digital images of the moon and contribute their work to the Winter Moon Over Us 2027 Project Padlet<\/a> during the month of January.<\/p>\n

After posting their images with time, date, latitude, and longitude on the\u00a0 Winter Moon Over Us 2027 project\u00a0<\/em> Padlet,<\/a>\u00a0 Students research and compare each others’ Moon images.\u00a0 They include poetry, history, beliefs, stories, and research. They also talk about their lives including the kinds of food they eat during the Winter. Students use dialogue, comments, and discussion to share their valuable insights. The project ends with a final survey and sharing reflections. Students receive a certificate for completing the project.<\/div>\n

Objectives<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/h1>\n

Participants research and share stories, legends, foods, and poetry about the Winter Moon. The result is an intercultural exchange of explanations about the differences of each country from the sky, the data gathering technology, and cultural traditions. Students have discussions about their images and the similarities and differences of the Moon in different hemispheres.<\/p>\n

    2. By\u00a0 January 5, 2027, the Coordinator\/Manager will send back a list of student usernames and passwords.\u00a0 Please test them for each student and then give them out to each student.<\/li>\n
    3. Present your school and students by\u00a0creating a School Introduction. Go to the Winter Moon Over Us Padlet.com page and add your school name with a Winter Moon image and information that includes: the School name for the title and a two line description of your school.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
