School teams may choose to participate in one of these levels. The games will be carried out separately, but on the\u00a0<u>same<\/u>\u00a0timeline. \u00a0Each team creates 9 clever clues for a secret Landmark somewhere in the world. Each team is represented by a single email address.<br \/>\n(<em>Send all 9 clues &amp; your answer to the project coordinator when you join.<\/em>)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\"><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><b>Landmark Primary Game: (<\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/14XsZnWpBrj2GQIWomepN-73JWemBV8oDXPTjpoRBpT8\/edit?usp=sharing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Example Clue Sets from 2021<\/a><b>)<\/b><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">Primary Clues <strong>must have at least\u00a0<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">(1)<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0one coordinate (latitude or longitude);\u00a0<strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">(2)<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0at least 1 relevant associated date; and\u00a0<strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">(3)<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0a hemisphere-related clue. If subject matter such as math or history is used to give clues, it should fall within the reasonable knowledge area of kids ages 9 &#8211; 11. Clues should be\u00a0fact-based\u00a0as much as possible. Finally, the Landmark must exist or have existed at one time in history on planet Earth.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\"><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><b>Landmark Challenge Game: (<\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/1R01mZAr7IgYnXy4t1gDRmo83bdDc24EKiK7Eujp8GI0\/edit?usp=sharing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Example Clue Sets from 2021<\/a><b>)<\/b><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">This is the Pro game.\u00a0Challenge Clues are open-ended as in our past Landmark projects. Our\u00a0advanced players\u00a0should keep in mind that the game is more rewarding and fun when others have enough information to make some progress. Remember that students from around the world are reading your clues. This means that some &#8220;local&#8221; clues might be impossible to figure out.\u00a0 Please think globally.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff; font-size: 10pt;\">NOTE: <strong>Teams are\u00a0<\/strong><strong>not allowed to Guess the Landmarks during the project<\/strong><strong>, but only to ask ONE\u00a0 Yes or No question of each team per week. Responses can only say Yes or No, but no other details. We will all use Answer Sheets at the end of the project.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<hr style=\"height: 2px; border: none; color: #333; background-color: #333;\" \/>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\"><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong>EXAMPLE CLUES<\/strong>:<\/span><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\"><strong>Here are Clues and the Answer from Mrs. Lowe&#8217;s grade 4 in Australia,<br \/>\n(7A Team Penguins)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">Week 1:<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: 'Comic Sans MS'; font-size: 10pt;\"> <span style=\"font-family: sans-serif;\">1. This landmark was an internment camp during World War I.<br \/>\n2. Several naturally occurring salt lakes can be found at this landmark.<br \/>\n3. This landmark has more than 13 shipwrecks in the surrounding area.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">Week 2:<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: 'Comic Sans MS'; font-size: 10pt;\"> <span style=\"font-family: sans-serif;\">4. More than 500,000 people visit this landmark each year.<br \/>\n5. This landmark is located 18 kilometres off the coast.<br \/>\n6. This landmark is 11 kilometres long.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">Week 3:<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: 'Comic Sans MS'; font-size: 10pt;\"> <span style=\"font-family: sans-serif;\">7. This landmark was named in <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>1696<\/strong><\/span>.<br \/>\n8. You can find this landmark between <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>100 and 125 degrees east longitude.<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n9.
